Registration
How do I register with you?
You can come to our driving school at Zeppelinstraße 7 in Düsseldorf-Eller at any time. You don't need an appointment. Or you pre-register online. Then we invite you to a personal meeting and explain all the details.
What do I get from pre-registering online?
If you register online, you also get the learning app for free. Pre-registering saves your place, and you can still say no later. You can't combine this offer with other discounts.
What do I need for the application at the Straßenverkehrsamt?
You need your training contract, a valid ID card or passport and a biometric photo. You also need the certificates for your first aid course and your eye test. If you live in Düsseldorf, you can also hand in the application at any Bürgerbüro (city office).
Can I change to your school from another driving school?
Yes, you can change at any time. Many of our students came to us from another driving school. Just talk to us. Together we check what you have already done and what is still missing.
Theory
When are theory lessons?
Lessons are on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. They run from 18:00 to 19:30. You can always find the current topics and dates on our theory schedule page.
How many theory lessons do I have to attend?
For Category B there are 12 basic lessons and 2 extra lessons for your category. We teach up to three times a week, so you finish them quickly.
Where do I take the theory test?
At the TÜV Rheinland test centre in Düsseldorf-Garath (opens in a new tab), Frankfurter Straße 201. First you pass the practice test at our school. Then we register you online. After that, you can take the test any Tuesday without an appointment. In the morning you can go from 08:00 to 12:00. In the afternoon you can go from 12:30 to 15:45.
Do I also need to study with the app?
Yes, we strongly recommend it. You need both: the lessons at our school and learning on your own with the app. Together they get you ready for the test.
Licence classes
What's the difference between B and B197?
With the normal Category B, you take the test in a manual car. With B197, you take the driving test in an automatic car. You also get extra training in a manual car, so you may still drive manual cars afterwards. This makes the test much less stressful.
When can I start with BF17?
You can sign up from age 16½. You can take the driving test at 17. Until your 18th birthday, you may only drive with a registered companion.
What does my companion need for BF17?
Your companion must be at least 30 years old. They must have had a Category B licence for at least 5 years. They may have no more than 1 point in Flensburg. This is Germany's register of traffic offences.
When do I need Category BE?
You need it if you want to pull a trailer that weighs more than 750 kg. The trailer can weigh up to 3,500 kg, for example a caravan or a horse trailer. Car and trailer together can weigh up to 7,000 kg. You need Category B first.
Which cars will I train in?
In an Audi A3, a VW Golf GTI or a BMW 1 Series. For Category BE, we add a trailer.
Languages & advice
Do you offer lessons in other languages?
Yes. We teach and give advice in German, English, Dutch, Turkish, Arabic and Berber. This makes your lessons easier to follow. Just tell us which language is easiest for you.
I'm afraid of driving. Is that a problem?
Not at all. Many students write about this in our reviews. Lots of them were very nervous at the start. We go at your speed and explain everything calmly. Step by step, you feel more confident.
How much does the licence cost with you?
We talk about prices in person at the consultation. Everyone needs a different number of driving lessons. So we give you an honest estimate for your situation. Come by without an appointment or call us.
